Time for the mind
Thomas Röttcher - Curriculum Vitae

BP has so rosy images on your own website. In several ways. This has recently been one of American Bloggers (followed later by others) revealed - and promptly of mass media and news agencies picked up in this country. Long to these very different calibers were silent in disinformation by the oil giant and the Obama Administration. zeitgeist blogger Magnus Goeller documented the events of recent months committed and profound.

Since then "plugged" the hole in the seabed seems (and I stress seems, because it still is evidence that the action has again failed or new leaks discovered were now possibly also auströmt gas , so the whole situation to be much worse could than previously thought, especially after the amateurish "rescue attempts" BP engineers), the media interest in the oil fiasco took suddenly again. If the editors of the major publishers and broadcasting centers otherwise not so stingy with positive news!

The FAZ had all yesterday particularly brave shown. Had given to whether Mrs Merkel after the apparent turn for the better probably green light for free coverage? From her you know that she likes to take publishers and editors to task, to put it kindly. Maybe she feels as self-appointed boss of the fourth pillar of democracy. Well, we of zeitgeist Print & Online had not been invited, so we write what is really matter.

The oil crisis environment drives sometimes strange flowers. The editors of KarmaKonsum, a LOHAS portal, was a kind of blackmail letter along with a stack of postcards , the following print adorns: "Be glad that we do not build nuclear power plants" Among the BP logo with the cynical comment: "The little oil in the Gulf. "letters and cards, however, are not from BP itself.

For the fourth largest oil company in the world was until now really all one can see from a few slips off like clockwork: First, the more restrained media policy, on the other hand hardly calls for boycotts by consumers, as they knew that earlier in similar cases. The queues at ARAL gas stations are as long as ever. The crashed share value is also no doom, but today where everyone knows that can be done with speculation on falling prices good coal. And of liability for the costs incurred (and more emerging) environmental damage if the will ever be quantified in monetary terms, is (still) not too much talk. And if it was sometimes questionable, President Obama held his hand up, sorry, protecting it.

Sure, elsewhere on our planet are disasters in oil production on the agenda, just think of the Niger River Delta , where millions gallons of oil have contaminated the water or on the eerily beautiful produced by methane explosions "Gateway to Hell" in Turkmenistan . These make it due to our callousness and lack of sensation content (not more) on the front pages of the tabloids. In the case of the current Gulf of Mexico incident, the thing but different. This information is deliberately withheld and manipulated.

As for censorship, Obama is calling all first and foremost. Since the directives in the German Chancellery seem to comparatively heavenly. Not only did the world a long time (and probably still) was held over the true scale of the disaster in the dark. Efforts were also hardly to international assistants, and Anomalies contemporaries who wanted to bring solutions (such as the manufacturer of a natural agent that can probably reduce oil in large quantities by biological means ), did not make it beyond the antechamber of the U.S. authorities . Whether FEMA, disaster protection, among the volunteers, who are very interested in saving our environment, probably suspected terrorists?

Irony aside. It is even said that it was now forbidden to shoot photos of the effects of the oil spill. Recordings such. Example, the oil-smeared birds shall be punishable by heavy fines. No one affected coastal areas should be more closer without the express permission Gulli.com reported on July 4. An impressive photo collection has China intern.de published in defiance that you should have seen.

The reality, however, is sooner or later can hardly escape the US-President: Just he and slipped past his land just on another disaster. But already the next hurricane, which can not be long in coming and is expected to stir the oil and corexitgetränkte sea could make out of the White House, a black. Or else it would be - and that would be the worst case - to use a nuclear bomb in order to seal the undersea leaks: Inflamed then also the frozen under the seafloor methane, the southern United States could be hit by a massive tsunami, which would have washed up (and the "Black House" again shine in white could be ...?).

Whether those responsible go as a step and would take such a risk? Fortunately, since a may be urged, has the oil spill occurred virtually on the doorstep US own - and not elsewhere. A certain not inconsiderable decision inhibitor.

That we do not get to see the real images, is now well on the self-censorship.

    Oil companies are major advertisers.
And taxpayers, so it will probably also be pressure from the government.

Here you can see some truths.
