Time for the mind

The otherwise quite informative television format "nano" appeared recently polemical. In the broadcast of 03/06/09 the question should be raised whether not man, but the sun could be the trigger of climate change, as is often claimed. Instead the issue objectively backlighting, sometimes a Swiss scientist was just interviewed who had not yet come to my knowledge in the climate debate in appearance. Based on the measurement of beryllium-10 atoms came to this the remarkable resumé: The sun is a dynamic star, its influence on the Earth but constant. What, what's that for logic? And finally the usual in such cases postscript: It is only the person who is responsible for climate change. Even the moderator was anything but impartial: "Any other result would have surprised us."

Better came off for the company "Better Place" - in the same shipment by the way - that wants to install a nationwide charging infrastructure for electric cars (and is already strong here, so for example, in Israel and soon also in Denmark.). That it would involve a flawless monopoly, fell flat under the table. The Israeli Shai Agassi, founder of the project and former CEO of SAP, it goes well, the CO2 dogma and use the "polluters man" for his own purposes. "What we really our planet worth?" Even more problematic is an article in the new edition of "Welt der Wunder" , the magazine of the same TV show. On the cover it says "Is there a climate conspiracy?", Subtitle: "In no other science is as much a lie, fake and tricked." So far, so good. It is the search of a certain Seth Shulman presented who wants to have uncovered that would have included the significant environmental critic Fred Singer received money from Exxon Mobil. This would be reprehensible in fact, if this were so and thus opinions were bought. But then the shot backfires. In the conspiracy, it was all about, so "Welt der Wunder" "to make independent climate researchers and their findings on climate change credibility and serve up the public a lie - that the greenhouse effect is not a problem". And further: "One can say that the Profesional deniers industry has delayed the fight against climate change by years - just as it has helped to delay the fight against the tobacco companies." Fighting ... fighting ... terrorism ? Strong stuff. Especially if you look at how much hard facts - far beyond statements such as "a warmer climate is much better." - Now effectively prove that the role of the people evaluate marginal climate change (cf. current zeitgeist-Issue 1 -2009 ). But the opening up just now at a more profound research.

If by publications such as the climate of the plot in "Welt der Wunder" Now all the critics at the prevailing climate model (and there are now at least tens of thousands of scientists !) come under suspicion of being corrupt deniers, is Shulman's approach the real disinformation campaign. When asked who pays for Shulman, was not in the article.
