Václav Klaus, courageous president of the Czech Republic
One who does not hold bones about his opinions, even on formal occasions not, Czech President Václav Klaus. Just yesterday, he criticized the European Parliament that the Lisbon Treaty magnify the gap between citizens and the EU, and even put the role of the European Parliament questioned. He spoke of "democracy deficit, decision not selected, but chosen by, bureaucratisation of decision-making processes" and called to mind that "one way or another institutional arrangement of the European Union is not an end to itself, but an instrument to achieve real goals". Due to the non-existence of a European people, so Klaus further strengthening of the European Parliament would "result in even greater sense of alienation of EU citizens by the institutions" to one.
